An Invitation to Begin Training to
Lead Self Worth Workshops
Healing the Wounds of Life.
Over my many years of spiritual practice, and social change work, I have come to the conclusion that Healing the Wounds of Life is an enormously important body of work, and have, accordingly, decided to focus most of my energy to spreading the knowledge of how to lead these workshops. I cannot think of a more important contribution, that I might be capable of offering, to the greater good of humanity.
Virtually every human being carries some wounds from things that have been done to us, have happened to us, and/or from things we have done ourselves to others, or to ourselves. Since, this letter is only going to those who have taken a Self Worth workshop, you know what I am speaking of. If we can spread this work widely enough, just think of how it could change the way we live on the planet: prisons could become healing centers; sexual abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse patterns that have been passed down generation after generation could be changed; children could be raised in safe and cozy environments; perhaps, there would be fewer and fewer people filled with anger and rage; and more and more people would be able to awaken to seeing our fellow human beings as not “other”, but as sisters and brothers; happiness would not only be our birthright, but what we experience. I invite you to join me in this work.
Taking the training not only prepares one to lead the workshops, but also provides an enormously important vehicle to continue to work on oneself, peeling away the layers of wounds, until one gets to the core of one’s being. Then, as we have come to see, one can fully embrace one’s life work, free of the need to justify one’s existence. There is, for each of us, first the work to get to be OK, which at this time on the planet, is a relatively rare experience in itself; after which, is the even more rare experience of being able to allow oneself to live in the flow of life, to experience grace, joy, abundance, and ease, amidst the ups and downs of life.
If you are going to undertake this training, we will be making some commitments to one another. I will undertake to provide you with the tools, training, and guidance to be able to lead these workshops from a place of deep intuition, with the ability to create a safe sacred and magical space, and the capacity to be a vehicle for the healing energy of Guru Ram Das. In exchange, I would ask you to dedicate yourself to serving your fellow beings, to regard yourself as a sacred vehicle for the performance of that service, and a deep commitment to finely tuning, developing and training that vehicle (yourself) so as to be able to function effectively and harmoniously. I would also ask you to commit to attend an annual gathering, in which you would:
- Share leading one another through Self Worth workshop individual processes
- Share tools and techniques with one another
- Help lead training for new guides
Requirements
1. If you have taken a weekend Self Worth workshop with myself or with one of the other Self Worth workshop leaders, you are eligible to begin the training.
2. This training is designed for Kundalini Yoga (KY) teachers who have completed, or are currently taking, Level One of the KRI International Teacher Training
Course. For those who are not KY teachers, additional training will be required, and for now, would be individually designed for each trainee. If you are not a KY teacher, and wish to take this training, please communicate directly to me at: satsantokh@comcast.net
3. In order to begin to lead Self Worth workshops on your own, you will need to attend a minimum of three Self Worth workshops led by myself or any of the approved Self Worth Workshop leaders, plus a series of three trainings. In the last training, which is a kind of practicum, you would be leading three students through the Self Worth journey during the course of a weekend Self Worth workshop. Then, I would advise you whether you are ready to begin, or what further work might be needed.

Virtually all of us have been wounded, whether it was once or twice, occasionally,
or regularly. For most of us, these wounds impact our lives in profound
and subtle ways. We want to live our lives as radiant examples of how
to live on the planet. We want to become aware of, and develop an ongoing
connection with our higher selves. But we find that we are blocked by
fears of lack of self worth. Sometimes we try to prove we are worthy,
but nothing ever seems to be enough.
Sat Santokh is a leader in the field of transformational
social change workshops, and the application of yogic technology to living
in the world while caring about it deeply. A former manager of the Grateful
Dead, he is the senior Kundalini Yoga teacher in the San Francisco Bay
Area. After leading workshops for over thirty-five years, he has spent
the last ten years working on developing an understanding of the nature
of self worth issues and how to effectively address them.
Comments
"I was so grateful to discover that I could go back and recover
my innocence. I have felt dirty for so many years. What a miracle, to
be able to start over, to know that I was innocent, and that I deserve
to be happy. What a blessing. Thank you"
"It was intense and
amazingly effective. I'm still not sure
how we got to the reality of each other's issues so quickly and easily...
I did this 40 day women's group that met once a week, but I it didn't
get as close and intimate. Having the whole weekend together was really
important for that. I learned some things about myself that I already
knew, but couldn't recognize, as well as some new insights to my patterns.
I also felt extremely comfortable with your presence and mediation, thank
you, again."
"The most important thing I learned is to always love myself completely
and unconditionally. I also think that talking about things that affect
your life helps you to not only see the problem, but it also helps you
move away from it. I think being able to tell this wonderful, safe and
powerful group of people why I felt I was unworthy was one of the most
powerful and courageous things I've ever done. You created a space where
this could happen. I would recommend this workshop to everyone!"
"You seemed to have come from a place not of erudition, or technical
preparedness, but from a place of true wisdom, compassion, and love. I
thought a couple of times while you (we) were doing the most intense work
of our time together whether you had any training in psychotherapy. It
came up as a questions but I knew that it didn't matter, maybe you do,
maybe you don't but what was important is that you were able to embody
this wisdom, compassion and love, any king of technical training seemed
irrelevant."
"This workshop was a wonderful combination of physical, mental,
and emotional work, using yoga and group support to work through old wounds
to my sense of self-worth. I had powerful insights that I have not been
able to access through counseling or talk-therapy. I came away with tools
for learning to love myself unconditionally."
"Go, go now, and go soon. This workshop is a must for all women
who are ready to love themselves. It is the necessary catalyst your soul
needs to begin a new journey. Like the spiritual kick in the butt we all
need at some point in our lives to grow into who we want to be."
