I spoke, last Saturday, at the Spearhead 911 Concert/Peace Rally at Speedway Meadows in Golden Gate Park, at which there may have been 20,000 attendees. In terms of getting people out, general ambience, and communicating the understanding that a movement is rapidly growing, it was quite successful. [more]

There is much talk in the media about "remembrance" on this day, referring to remembering those who died on 9/11. Nothing is said anywhere about the thousands (3500+) of innocent civilians who were killed in Afghanistan. While we (the USA) are going through great pains to compensate the families of the victims of the 9/11 bombings in the USA, we (our government) has been unwilling to consider offering any compensation to the families of innocent civilians who we killed in Afghanistan. I was away most of last week at an SVN (Social Venture Network www.svn.org) Board Retreat). It was at a very lovely conference center, which is said to be sustainable and conscientious. But, as it turned out, that did not extend to the food. The breakfast was based on the basic American food groups, which seem to be caffeine, white sugar, white flour, and fat (especially hydrogenated fat).

Last night, as I was going to bed, I thought to myself that maybe I should let go of this 40 day sadhana – of getting up every day at 3:30. That I am not getting enough sleep, etc., etc., and so forth. [more]

How do we get from here to there? What would "there" be? What would it look like? How can we develop a coherent enough vision of the minimum we need to achieve to get out of our current mess, without becoming overly elaborate in the vision building process? [more]

Last night I went to sleep at 1 AM. As I was going to sleep, I argued, to myself: "wouldn’t it make more sense to get at least 4 or 5 hours sleep, so I could do a coherent sadhana in the morning, rather than getting up at 3:30?" [more]

My new sadhana is underway. I connected all the dots yesterday and did all the pieces. This morning I rose, with not enough sleep, at 3:30 to begin my second day. There were, I am grateful to say, moments of Grace in the morning sadhana.
